Okay, actually typing things is for the birds. Maybe I need more grunt?

I got so excited about tilde.club this weekend, but instead of actually writing anything I continued burying myself in the toolchain, teaching myself how to get more and more out of Grunt. I’m automating:
…none of which will make nearly as much of a difference as just asking Paul to turn on GZIP for the website, but it’s still fun. I’m trying to decide if I want to inline all my CSS or not, which is a silly thing to worry about on a one-page website, but whatever.
Anyway: I need to spend more time looking into what everyone else is doing with tilde.club and less time fiddling. And I’m pretty sure I’ll get that backwards.

I know we’re supposed to be doing something super cool or retro or whatever, and this is goddammed Bootstrap/jQuery monstrosity already, but it’s what I liked about the early web: trying in small ways to do things as well as you can. Looking at it you’re thinking, this is desgined as well as he can?
Well screw you.
Sorry, I don’t know how this got so combative.
Anyway. I’m hoping that just like I felt more free to experiment and put up whatever nonsense was rattling around in my head back in the early days of the web, I’ll be able to do the same here. Maybe it’ll happen!
Now how do I get a guestbook working?
